



David is our Chief Editor and currently a member of the Rochester church on the district. He graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Media and Communication – Journalism specialism. He is excited to be using his degree in such a way to bring honour to the Lord.
He helps construct group meetings within the publication and organises interviews with those featuring within the magazine. He also utilises his writing ability to form articles and edits all written content. He is currently the assistant youth leader at his local church and has a passion to see the young people on the district strive and succeed in the path God has set for them.

Temmy is our Sub Editor and she is currently in her second year of university studying BA Journalism. Her role consists of liaising with the editor, reviewing all content, writing articles and organising interviews. Natalie Casey
Magazine Overseer
Natalie is the founder and general overseer of the Arise magazine. Her vision to create a vibrant youth and Christian orientated magazine has helped explore newer depths in spreading the word of God. She works alongside young people on a daily basis and is the assistant youth director at her local church – Gateway Ministries. She has a desirable passion to see young people grow in the Lord and connect with God in a more spiritual level.

Genelli (Konnie) Hamilton (BA HONS)
Interviewer
Konnie Hamilton is an interviewer for Arise. She considers herself to be a humble contagiously fun loving individual who strives to be a coat of many colours, using the gifts that God has blessed her with.
She recently graduated with a BA honours in Journalism & Media and since then it’s been an upwards journey for her; continuously pushing to achieve her full potential. Her ultimate aim is to simply be a light and a vessel that is used for the Kingdom.

Laura Henry
Website Designer
Laura is the Website Designer and creator for the Arise magazine. She is currently studying Multimedia Web design. Laura sings in the praise and worship team at her local church Gateway Ministries in which her Father Pastors.
After giving her life to the Lord at the age of 11 Laura has had a great hunger for the word and serving the Lord through ministering to other young women. In the year 2013 Laura was awarded the Role Model of the Year award at the Deptford district awards evening ceremony and she aspires to see young women fulfilling their purpose in Christ Jesus.

Dekkel Simmons
Magazine Designer
Dekkel is the magazine designer for the Arise magazine. He is a very talented Graphic's Designer and aspires to go into marketing when he has completed his studies. He worships at the Chrisma church within the district and also sings on the Choir on a National Level.

Oshane is an all-round designer for the Arise team from 2D to 3D with the design department. He attends the Deptford church within the district. He finds the opportunity to express strengths and abilities through architecture.
He feels that good social designs can bring together the diverse cultures and communities which enable the church to grow. Oshane also loves people,loves to chat and and loves to make people smile (even though he dont himself) he believes every interaction is a possiblity to learn and believes we as people are G.O.D (Generation of Disciples).

Tom is a 20 year old journalism graduate from Kent, interested mainly in the arts, culture and food. It is his goal to become a food or hotel critic, travelling abroad to write about what he loves most. .
Shantel Cherebin
Writer (BA HONS)
Shantel is a poet and writer for the Arise magazine. She worships at Chrisma church; part of the district. She is passionate about blessing people with her creative writing ability and she also demonstrates her love and deep desire to reach out to the hearts of humanity.
Her ability to grasp the attention from her peers and speak the word of God to them on a level in which they will understand has been noticed. As a result she had recently been appointed the role of trainee youth leader at her local church.


Melissa Garrick
Interviewer
Melissa is an interviewer for the Arise magazine. She is currently studying Psychology at The University of Sussex and is also the marketing executive for the African & Caribbean society at the University.
Melissa gave her life to God at the age of 13 and is passionate about encouraging young people. She is also a wonderful musician and explores the creative arts by creating her own form of poetry, spoken word and dance.

I'm a student & I'm freelance fashion & Beauty photographer & videographer. I would say I've been doing this for about 2 and a half years, I'm not the best yet but I'm well on the way there.
I love doing what I do because it gives me the opportunity show my creativity & interpretation on how I see the world, to be able to tell stories & capture emotions. For me it's not just about pressing the shutter button but it's about seeing the beauty & composing it in a way that you feel expresses you.

Kaydene is a photographer for the Arise magazine. She will also be conducting interviews for up and coming articles which will soon feature in the magazine. She loves talking and meeting new people and has such a lovely persona.

Ella is a writer for the magazine. She hopes to become a journalist and loves writing and covering news reports. She attends the Rochester church in the district and also sings in a group called RYC.
Spencer is a photographer for the magazine and also does video recording. He is the local youth director at Rochester church within the district and has been in charge of the youth for 10 years.

She has extensive experience in Human Resources Management and Training across many sectors in the UK and Africa and is a successful Executive Career Coach. She is also a writer and public speaker the recipient of several awards including the nomination as one of the Top 20 Inspirational Females from the Africa Diaspora in Europe in 2011. Frances Mensah Williams is the author of non-fiction books ‘Everyday Heroes – Learning from the Careers of Successful Black Professionals’ and ‘I Want to Work in Africa – How to Move Your Career to the World’s Most Exciting Continent’. She is also the author of the novel ‘From Pasta to Pigfoot’ (Jacaranda Books, May 2015)
